ROADS ARE BEING PLOWED
As I type, the plower/salter is on the mountain getting Apple Creek Road as well as the side roads. We are done with precipitation...now it's just a temperature game. Thanks to Jeff Hintzman, et al, for their road work this winter!
I live in the second house on the left just above the first 90 degree turn. A car got stuck below my driveway at 3PM. The driver had to back down to the turn and pull off the road. The road was plowed but not sanded. It is packed snow that is very slick. Be careful.
I am at 579 which is the 2nd house on the left above the blue-roof house. The road here was plowed but much snow and ice is still on it. I would not want to try it.
I know sodium chloride doesn't work below 16 degrees, but was wondering if the plowers put down anything behind the plowing? If not, Apple Creek Road may be a skating rink. I'm already down to 6 degrees here at the end of Staymon.
At 8:40AM a pickup truck made it down the road. This morning I have heard a couple vehicles try to make it up the road without success. Saw a young man walking up the road a few minutes ago.
3pm, 211 Apple Creek: 4wd vehicles are moving slowly up and soon road but very few,
