The polar jet stream remains banked well to our north in the eastern U.S., in large part thanks to the strong El Nino in place. Models suggest a polar blast to set in mid January or so for the east, but we can be thankful for so-far lower heating bills, zero HOA expenditures for salting/plowing and lack of travel woes, just at the expense of it not feeling like the holidays. We know we'll pay the piper before long, but I'm lovin' the benefits we've had so far.
