It has been one long hot summer, here...after what was a long snowy winter! It all began December 18 when up to 18" of snow fell in Apple Creek, stranding some for a number of days. Bob Child took this video of his pups, the young one a recent local rescue who was having a great deal of fun, while the older one was not amused. It ran on The Weather Channel the following day...
DECEMBER 18, 2009: 18" of snow!
While portions of western NC are back into drought concerns this summer, Apple Creek Acres has been in a part of Haywood County that has received healthy rain totals. If you doubt that, just ask any of the squadrons of mosquitoes that have sprung up.
