Well, kinda sorta. Most of you have seen the Asplundh tree crews on Apple Creek Road this past week, and may well see them some next week. These are crews contracted by Duke Energy to clear the power line right of ways, and they've been working all around the greater Junaluska area. I would assume they are not done as there are a couple of work signs face down in the weeds, so just a potential heads up for next week.

I'm concerned with the mass destruction they seem to be doing where they are working. First off I wonder whether they need to go down to the ground under the lines or merely up where the lines are in danger. And, at this point, they don't seem to be doing all that good a job of cleaning up behind themselves. Maybe that is to come, but it is indeed concerning at this point. In our case, our trees/bushes/land are not being affected but I see what is happening around me and am concerned. Are they really authorized to do as much as they are? or are they simply taking the easy way out?
