Wednesday Plowing

Larry will be here in early afternoon. He hopes the sun will make the ice slushy before he begins. He will go as high as the Roses and will get Camry Road. Claire Stoeckel

  1. news from the blue top:
had a lovely hike from the bottom up last evening, chained up the subaru and got down and up with the family. shoveled and now my driveway is clean and clear. the snow report for apple creek: it was 24 degrees on my porch
    mostly packed powder, 2-4 inches
    trails 100% skiable, lifts inoperable
    plow/salt: nowhere in sight.
    have a good one.

  3. We made it up to 579 about an hour ago....slowly in 2nd gear but no problem....even shared the road for a little ways with Larry who was plowing downhill while we were driving uphill.
According to our thermometer system it got up to 39 today. And we are home....hooray!

  4. For anyone reading this, 'comment' posts do not automatically post, which is a safety set-up for this blog. Usually they will post fairly quickly, but sometimes not for hours. Just the nature of the beast. We are feeling our way through a new form of communication with this blog, but if you need answers quickly, it would be most efficient to roll a phone call to one of several of us. GLAD YOU MADE IT UP!!!!! WELCOME HOME!!! bob

  5. phone calls work much better when I remember to bring the homeowners list with me....which I hadn't....lol! I'm thinking it might be a good idea to keep an extra copy in each car.....which hopefully may mean we won't have such snow conditions again.....

  6. HA! I know I'm guilty of 20-20 hindsight! Anyway, warmer temps coming in in force for now...until the next system!

  7. Apple Creek is clear of snow as far as I can see both up and down the road.......not sure whether it was Larry's plowing and salting or the warm weather or a wonderful combination but it sure looks good! Hope the roads up higher are also as clear but at least our (often) treacherous part is now showing pavement.

  8. Yep, let pups out at 3a and it was 33 degrees, 38 degrees when I got up...excellent conditions to get us back to normal. Stopped on my way up and talked some with Larry as they were stopped to fill up the salt hopper. Melting-friendly temps here for a while, thankfully!
